At PACIV, we can handle a variety of control system designs, installations and start-ups to serve your budget and process needs. We will work with you to provide on-site surveys and consulting or can perform as an extension of the overall project team to ensure that all control systems needs are covered and properly documented. We will follow ANSI/ISA-95 (S95) standards to develop your control system platform. At the same time, all needed batch control programming will follow the ANSI/ISA-88 (S88) standard.

Applications
The
PACIV instrumentation group offers services ranging from specification
to procurement, installation, and ultimately on-going maintenance.
PACIV instrument technicians provide both project and operations
services seven days a week. We focus on client needs and mitigate any
disruption in their process, from Predictive and Preventive Maintenance
(PM) to Corrective Maintenance (CM) services for all building and
process instrumentation.
Instrumentation Services Provider (ISP):
Instrumentation is typically a critical path item for projects due to the fact that process conditions must be known in order to specify the correct instrumentation. To effectively manage this critical path area, PACIV ISP takes full responsibility for instrument delivery. Instead of multiple contractors placing orders for what “should” meet the specification and delivery requirements, PACIV works closely with the client and suppliers to ensure that all client requirements are met, data and documentation are managed, and the project schedule is updated with valid expediting information and required at site dates. Our process and knowledge that’s what is typically a disorganized process with multiple layers of mark-ups and contractors, and orchestrates a transparent, organized and predictable deliverable.
ISP Advantages include:
Our "life-cycle" view of the process dictates that we offer more than people (technicians); we combine people and processes to deliver value. Decisions made during specification/procurement will have significant positive or negative impact on Construction, C&Q and Validation. We focus on making the delivery process efficient.
Interface: Place at which two independent systems meet and act on or communicate with each other.
Almost all serious project problems begin at the interfaces because of:
Below, you will find sample process flows for a typical project requiring process instrumentation. Please note the various contractors and interfaces between stages in the industry standard process. Each of these hand-offs represent a critical interface on the project. How do you manage project interfaces? What are the risks and costs of the industry standard model? Which is the best model for your project?

We bring efficiency, eliminate interface issues and transfer knowledge
throughout the life of the project. PACIV takes ownership and becomes
the single point of contact for instrument delivery.
Operations/Maintenance Services
Instrumentation
project services naturally extend to the on-going maintenance of your
facility. We carry all needed instrumentation standards (traceable to
NIST) and provide calibration certification for building and process
instrumentation as well as QC Labs Fume Hoods. Depending on client
needs, we can follow our own instrument calibration procedures or the
clients' procedures.
Our instrument techs are familiar with most of the Computer Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) used in the industry (e.g. Maximo) so they can properly document their work utilizing the client's CMMS. All instrument techs are knowledgeable and experienced in cGMP's so their documentation is in compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements. In many instances, the instrumentation team is an extension of the control system and C&Q/CSV teams and assists with loop checks, system commissioning and other testing.
In addition to these typical deliverables, the scope and continuity of our service allows us to deliver value in other ways such as: vendor management, performance metrics, data delivery and warranty management services just to name a few.
Our clients often view PACIV and our service as a "Best Practice". In fact, one of our clients has documented such value in the PACIV delivery model (Six Sigma Project) that they have contracted with us to be the Exclusive Instrument Services Provider to all of their facilities globally.
THE RANGE OF SERVICES WITHIN THE INSTRUMENTATION GROUP IS:

Our
Validation Group can provide consultancy, planning, development and
execution of any parts of the validation life cycle for a system.
PACIV resources combine their hands-on experience of the control systems with the FDA regulations and industry guidelines (ICH Q9, ASTM, and ISPE (GAMP and C&Q)). We can advise, design and execute an efficient "right sized" C&Q/Validation approach to any project following the Risk-Based Management Process. We frequently provide packages also for our clients’ packaged equipment systems.
With our associates’ knowledge and expertise, we can address any issues found during the commissioning activities of the instrumentation and control systems and solve them. For packaged equipment, we can eliminate the need to bring support from the manufacturer to the site due to the technical competencies of our resources and familiarity with all sorts of systems.
PACIV resources are speakers and participate actively in the leading organizations establishing industry standards such as ISPE and ISA and we have participated in numerous FDA inspections of our clients’ systems assisting and responding to any observations from regulatory agencies.
Our C&Q/Validation deliverables include:
Risk-based Management Process following FDA, ICH Q9, ASTM, and ISPE (GAMP and C&Q) guidelines
We will design, fabricate and/or install any type of panels for our clients’ control system needs. Our panels are fabricated as per clients' requirements and can cover any type of process area classification. We procure all needed materials to fabricate the panel, provide the panel's installation and all field wiring termination as required at the site.
We also retrofit existing panels from the client to include the needed automation from the most current PLC/HMI solutions to applicable single loop controllers, switches, buttons and indicators.
